Two Elle18 Lippies- Grape Rain & Roasty Red

Hello Ladies,

My experience with Elle18 products have been funny. Sometimes they work for me and sometimes they don't. I wanted a red I could wear everyday. (I love Red!!! My favorite color is Red) . I wanted something which would be mostly a red with brownish tones. I went shopping with my mother and she was on the lookout for a plum color(She can pull a Plum lipstick on any day . .For that I envy her :P) and swatched some plum shades . That day she bought the Grape Rain shade.

And someday back I had posted a haul from Stylecraze. The Roasty Red one was an impulsive buy.

Now Firstly I share with you Grape Rain(19)

 It's a very plummy color . .It has a slight pink undertone and lots of shimmer in it. So those who do not love shimmers give this a miss. Also the lipstick is not very pigmented. You need to build up color. I had to swipe 6-7 times to get the color in the below swatch. Even then if you have pigmented lips then it does not cover it fully.

The texture is very smooth and after some months if you use it you can feel as if you have oil on your lips. I really dislike that . .So now I've taken a vow that I will not purchase any more Elle18 ones.

The lipstick does not stay on my lips for more than an hour. It just vanishes without any tint but leaves the shimmers all over my face . .:(

Now I move on to Roasty Red(15)

The color is a orangy -red with brown undertones and no sparkles. It is not matte. I like this color a lot, as it is not too bright and van be worn as a day wear too

Texture is smooth and it glides on easily. You need to build up color with multiple swipes. It settles in fine lines and does not leave a tint.

Both the Lippies have a sweet smell but leave a sour taste on your lips hours after the application which is another reason I hate these lippies. As if I have applied Neem Juice on my lips . .Yuccckkk.

Now coming to the
Pros:

• Price is affordable . .For those with limited budget and want to check out new shades these lippies are a great choice
• Nice range of colors
• Cute Packaging
• Nice Smell . .
• Does not dry out lips
• Easily available online as well as in stores
• Glides easily

Cons:

• Staying power is 2hrs max
•  You need a lip liner underneath to keep it in place.
• Bad taste . .It makes my lips taste sour for hours . .:(
• You need to build up color and for those with severely pigmented lips , these does not cover pigmentation. 
• Transferrable
• Settles in fine lines

I give these 2.5/5 . .

Will I repurchase??
-No . .I have vowed not to buy any more Elle18 lippies.
