MAC has been known for some of it’s signature MAC lipstick shades which never seem to go out of fashion. Flat out fabulous, is one of those colours that instantly makes you feel worth a million dollars. Is it only me, or does every one think that FLAT OUT FABULOUS, is one of those really elite feeling colour. Hello sweets with my very first review on BAA, lets know more about this wonder shade MAC Flat out Fabulous.
Mac Flat out Fabulous Lipstick Review and Swatch:
MAC Flat out Fabulous is part of the permanent line of Lipstick now after the huge popularity of it while the Retro matte Lipsticks were launched. Most shades including this fab MAC Flat out Fabulous shade was sold out within minutes of being launched. But then MAC decided to add this shade to it’s permanent line, and I’m glad they did.
What MAC claims :
Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made M·A·C famous. MAC describes this shade as a Bright plum matte shade.

Packaging Of Mac Flat Out Fabulous :
Mac Flat out fabulous, comes in the regular MAC bullet. All black in colour, cute and super handy, the cap shuts secure and tight making it apt for travel. The packaging is safe for keeping in your purse and won’t be a problem for travelling too.

Price of MAC Flat Out Fabulous :
Price has been a major drawback since MAC has been constnatly hiking their prices. As of now Mac Flat Out fabulous retails for 1450 INR. It was launched during the retro matte Collection launch with a price of 990 INR.
Review of MAC Flat out Fabulous :
Flat out fabulous is one of those beautiful purple-magenta shades that flatters all skin tones undoubtedly, and since it has a blue undertone to it, it makes the teeth appear whiter. Belonging to the much-coveted retro matte range, Flat out fabulous sports incredible pigmentation and a no-sheen classic matte finish, but it does not look dead corpse matte, instead looks classy and is one my favourites from MAC.
The staying power of this is around 6 to 7 hours with snacking in between, but after a sumptuous meal, you would want to touch up. In summers it doesn’t dry out, but during winters these retro matte finishes end up giving you a really hard time. These Retro matte finish lipsticks, such as mac flatout fabulous tend to be drying but applying a lip balm 5 minutes prior to its application, takes away this problem. I am a pink lover myself and FLAT OUT FABULOUS is one of the most prized possessions in my collection. J
PROS and CONS of MAC Flat Out Fabulous :
PROS:
- Incredible pigmentation- all opaque in one swipe
- Super long wearing
- Unique pink-purple colour (in aweeee)
- Doesn’t tend to flake or chap
- Yummy vanilla fragrance from MAC
- A shade that flatters all skin tones comfortably, without having to make any extra effort.
- The shade doesn’t settle into fine lines
- Even after the actual lipstick wears out it lives a pretty stain behind, which I absolutely love .
CONS:
- Seems to be drying/tugging during winters
- DRY lipped ladies will need exfoliation and prepping with lip balm prior to application
- The shade sells out so fast, it is almost impossible to get hold of it at the MAC store
- The continuously increasing MAC prices
Final Words :
Overall I would say , if you are able to find it at the store then sure get it. MAC Flat out Fabulous when paired with the MAC magenta lip liner, seem like a match made in heaven, they look ‘princessy’ together. A total must have in my opinion, it is as classic as a red lipstick is, and you can easily go out with this if you are afraid of reds like I am.
